Final Day Thoughts from our BSU interns

Updated: Sep 9, 2020

Last week marked the end of the two internship’s TG Consulting hosted for Bath Spa University students Reagan Sparks and Katie Watson. They spent their time contributing to TG Consulting’s growing services and both worked on business-critical, worthwhile projects.

Tonia Galati, Director & Founder of TG Consulting says:

“I can’t begin to express the value that both Reagan and Katie have brought to TG Consulting as a business but also to us personally. They have been a joy to work with and have made some really valuable contributions to the business. Whilst I am sad that they are leaving their official intern roles, I am over the moon that they will remain connected to us through some exciting projects and collaborations!”

But don’t take our word for it, here’s what the two interns had to say about their experience with us at TG Consulting.

Intern Reagan says:

“Through my work at TG Consulting, I have gained so many skills and unearthed abilities and, more importantly, confidence within myself. ‘What have I enjoyed the most’ is a tricky question because I feel like I cannot be cliché and say everything… but I will.

I have enjoyed every moment working here as an intern as I have been able to work alongside some great inspirational and imaginative people who have always made me work with a smile. Working does not have to be a ‘grind’ or monotonous, it can also be explorative, an adventure.

My self-confidence has grown immensely in such a short amount of time thanks to the positivity from the team which has motivated me to keep pushing myself and discover that I do in fact have the knowledge and skillset to achieve great things.

The term emotional intelligence was never in my vocabulary before, but now I understand what it means to be aware of my surroundings, of my peers, and be more aware of myself and how I am operating.

With my new and improved self-awareness and skills I have learnt, I believe TG Consulting has opened many doors for me. I am now more likely to seek out work that I was too afraid to do and would not have gone for before because I was too nervous.

I have also enjoyed seeing the amazing work they do in helping students realise their potential and aiding those who face barriers, giving them a springboard to reach for the stars. Because of this, I am now inspired to go out and make it my mission to help fellow students and graduates be their best selves.”

Intern Katie says:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working alongside the TG Consulting team and having the opportunity to expand both my teamworking skills and skills as a content creator in an authentic business environment.

The work that TG consulting do is truly valuable, and it has been great to be able to work with them to promote their message in such an unprecedented time for young people who are being predicted to be hit the hardest by the post-Covid-19 economy.

The entire TG Consulting team have been brilliant to work with and have been great in providing valuable insights and advice concerning both the consulting business and my work as an intern which I will take with me as I enter into my final year at Bath Spa University as a Journalism & Publishing student.

Despite working in a virtual surrounding, my team connections and work productivity have been extremely effective, and Director & Founder Tonia and Associate Consultant Mona have been great mentors, ensuring that both Reagan and I were confident on our tasks at hand and taking care of ourselves.

They made every day a positive experience, and being such a relaxed environment, they helped put my nerves at ease almost instantly.

I am so grateful for TG Consulting being my first internship experience, as they have significantly helped boost my confidence, my employability skills and what I now know I can bring to future prospects.

I feel confident that they have opened more opportunities for me as I enter my penultimate year at university which will allow me to feel more assured about my future.

Overall, it has been great to contribute to such meaningful work within student and graduate employability and in helping students realise their potential to achieve the best they can no matter where they come from. This is such an important message and is one which will stay with me.”
