After a highly anticipated couple of weeks, it is finally time to bid farewell to our very first RE:Action 24/7 Programme, which was delivered to the young people of Bristol this month. We teamed up with Future Quest to offer two weeks of online content, including Q&A sessions with inspirational speakers and training sessions delivered by the likes of Microsoft.
Focusing on a variety of topics ranging from adopting a winning mindset, to ‘the truth behind the filter’, we aimed to inspire young people to challenge negative self beliefs and be confident in their own abilities. We did this by interviewing prominent faces and asking them to share relatable stories, and then offering real and tangible advice from some key Delivery Partners
We asked Ali, Project Manager at Future Quest, how he thinks the programme has helped the young people of Bristol. He says “RE:Action 24/7 was a fantastic opportunity to explore a number of key topics and gain skills to help them throughout education and life.”
He also thinks that “hearing from prominent speakers allowed young people to hear first hand about the barriers and challenges they faced and reflect on how this relates to their journey so far. By exploring these topics with employers, training it also helped them to understand how this may help them in the future.”
As well as advice from familiar faces, we were delighted to have worked with representatives from Babcock International, Atkins Global, Enterprise Rent a Car, Bali Balm, Amschela and Microsoft, to deliver training on how to put that advice into action. Microsoft say that the "theme-based agenda" of the RE:Action 24/7 Programme is unique and makes it stand out from any other student recruitment event.
We are over the moon to hear that the students, speakers , employers and partners all enjoyed taking part in our very first RE:Action 24/7 Programme and cannot wait to host the next one! Watch this space...
